Pop-up dance performances
“Pop-up” dance performances are short format dance/physical theatre pieces, showing up in unexpected sites in accordance with Crowd Company’s slogan – in the crowd for the moment. They do not need a conventional stage and have successfully been performed in theatre foyers, art galleries, conference venues, during business meetings and at several outdoor locations such as town squares and pedestrian streets
International exchange projects
Meeting Close- a collaboration between Crowd Company, I-ACT and Tut Theatre, Egypt
As a result of contacts established in Alexandria and Sweden by choreographer Marika Hedemyr, an exchange lab with dancers, actors and a composer took place in Göteborg, Sweden and Alexandria, Egypt during 2006 and 2007. The participants exchanged artistic perspectives and knowledge through working together collectively, aiming for a performance with audience dialogue.
The project was made possible through funding by the Swedish Institute, Swedish Arts Grant Committee, Open, Dansbyrån, Biblioteka Alexandrina Arts Department, Västra Götalandsregionen and Dramatiska Institutet/SIDA.
